Photographs
display so much information. But mostly we look at one and quickly move
on to the next. The intention of a movie based on photographs is to
encourage the eye to examine a photograph more intensively. It does
this by means of pan and zoom techniques, guiding the attention to
areas and objects that were either too small to see otherwise or
apparently insignificant.
The following movies are theme-based and I've tried to incorporate some
continuity from photo to photo. Otherwise, though, these aren't movies
in the traditional sense: the plot is imagined, there's no commentary,
and the actors (people and places) are mute (the movies are, however,
accompanied by music).
To see these movies you must have QuickTime
installed. For best results click on these links only
if you fulfill the following
criteria: you have high speed (cable or fast DSL) internet access, you
have
patience, and your eyes are good enough to enjoy a movie on a screen
that's 3.5 x 4.5 inches small. If you can't distinguish all the words
that appear as title and credits don't worry -- they aren't needed in
order to appreciate the product.
